Dodge Hornet Features a Muscular Exterior Design

The all-new Dodge Hornet becomes the newest addition to America’s performance brand’s four-vehicle lineup. Featuring an aggressive and strong exterior that suggests harnessed power just waiting to be uncorked and its race-inspired interior design philosophy that is performance and driver centered, the Dodge Hornet pushes the brand’s muscular design vocabulary into a new market.The Dodge Hornet’s unique Dodge DNA, such as the front fascia and hood design components that embody the Dodge attitude, earns it a place in the brand’s lineup of automobiles.
The front of the hood has a grille opening shaped like a “mail slot” into the fascia, and integrated heat extractors give it a performance-focused look. These design components, which are surrounded by two smaller inserts, convey a goal of functionality and performance while also delivering a muscular front end appearance that is consistent with the Dodge car lineup. The matte black, molded-in-color lower cladding and valances blend seamlessly into the strong contours of the bodyside. The distinctive new Abyss painted lower bodywork and rear valance with integrated dual exhaust outlets are fitted to the Hornet R/T.
Headlamp signature illumination, with LED reflectors and an illuminated daytime running light (DRL) signature, provides an unmistakable, targeted down-the-road read for Hornet. The Hornet’s Dodge identity is clearly visible from the back. This vehicle’s wide-ranging taillamp has an illuminated red signature and, for the first time on a Dodge vehicle, an illuminated Dodge Rhombi emblem in the center. Although they are standard on the Hornet, the lighted taillamp and Rhombi logo also subtly reference the Hornet R/T model’s electric performance. An optional external panel sunroof adds another exterior aspect that makes the Hornet feel exciting and airy.
The base 17-inch Silver alloy wheels of the entry-level Dodge Hornet GT are replaced by 18-inch Graphite Grey alloy wheels for the Dodge Hornet R/T. Other standard features include dual exhaust tips and black anodized Brembo front brake calipers emblazoned with the Dodge emblem. An automotive rendition of a “murder Hornet” is realized with the Blacktop package, which is offered for both R/T and GT models. It features gloss black mirror caps, 18-inch Abyss alloy wheels, gloss black painted daylight opening (DLO) molding, and gloss black badging.
All R/T and GT models, there is an optional Track Pack package that offers the most aggressive look. It includes improvements to 20-inch Abyss wheels, red-painted Brembo front brake calipers with the Dodge badge, and more performance and interior elements.
The driver-focused design that is the hallmark of the Dodge brand vehicle portfolio is followed by the performance-inspired interior. A number of devices, including display screens and center stack controls, are “tipped” subtly toward the driver, placing them at the center of the action. The instrument panel achieves a cross-car read by means of a wrapped and stitched mid-bolster that stretches through the panel, imparting a sense of lightness and visual width. The black inside of the Hornet features customary red stitching accents on the seats, armrest, and mid-bolster. The center switches and vent accents add a sleek, functional element that improves the interior’s performance appeal.
On the Hornet R/T and Hornet GT, leatherette and cloth seats are standard, the class-exclusive as a Track Pack option. The distinctive “red crust” accents on the racing-focused Alcantara Alcantara leather seats, which have an embroidered Dodge Rhombi emblem, are only available seats that visually pop and progressively fade, showcasing the distinctive Alcantara seat perforation. For those looking for additional Dodge attitude inside, Dodge made sure to provide optional red leather seats in addition to the leather seating that comes standard on the R/T Plus and GT Plus.
Joining the current famous Dodge badging lineup, which also includes Scat Pack, Hellcat, and Hellcat Redeye, the distinctive new Hornet emblem on the fender marks the return of the Hornet, a term first used on the renowned Hudson Hornet in the 1950s and again in 2006 as a successful Dodge concept vehicle.
