4×4 Drive Systems
Jeep is known for its 4×4 systems, and the Grand Cherokee model is no exception when it comes to conquering adventures ahead. Standard on the Laredo E and Altitude trims, there’s the Quadra-Trac I 4WD system that was produced for all-weather capability and includes the Selec-Terrain System. High-tier trims such as the Grand Cherokee Limited, Limited X, Trailhawk, Overland, High Altitude, and Summit feature the same 4×4 system but are also all paired with a two-speed transfer case to recognize and correct tire slippage. The Selec-Terrain Traction Control System incorporated lets drivers options between driving modes for driving in snow, sand, mud or rock. Additionally, there’s also the Quadra-Trac II System for even better off-road capability thanks to its low range.
The Trailhawk is the only trim that has the Quadra-Trac II system as well as an additional electronic rear limited-slip differential for optimal off-road traction and capability, thus making the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk “Trail Rated Tough.” Quadra-Trac Active on Demand 4WD is the standard 4×4 system on the top-tier Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk trims. It operates as a full-time 4×4 system that readily adapts no matter the driving conditions without any input from the driver being necessary.
The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers ten different exterior color options to choose from: Olive Green, Diamond Black, Billet Silver, Bright White, Granite Crystal Metallic, Pearl White, Red Velvet, Hydro Blue, and Firecracker Red. Wheels sizes range from 17-20 inches while materials range from polished aluminum, black satin, forged polish. Standard features include: ParkSense Rear Park Assist with Stop, automatic on/off headlights, heated outside mirrors, a tinted and acoustic windshield that reduces noise and glare, black claddings, and a deep tint sunscreen glass that works to keep the cabin cool. The Altitude and Summit trims add on E standard LED fog lamps, while the high-tier trims that follow from here on out include bi-xenon HID headlamps, platinum side roof rails, a power liftgate, tow hooks, rain-sensitive windshield wipers, rock rails, and even a roof rack. Select trims offer additional available touches such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, blacked-out hood decals, and “Trail Rated” badges when appropriate.
Jeep added a much larger 10.1-inch Uconnect touchscreen for the higher trim options. There will be a carryover of the current 7-inch and 8-inch Uconnect and bezel system. One thing that should be in all Grand Cherokee models is the all-new steering wheel and all-new 7-inch and 10.5-inch high-definition clusters.
