J.D. Power Initial Quality Study Names Ram No. 1

Ram was the only truck-exclusive brand to ever outperform all other brands in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS). The outcome continues Ram’s remarkable run of high IQS rankings; over the last five years, the brand has placed among the top three in the industry four times, with a record-breaking first-place finish in 2021—the first by a truck-exclusive brand in the study’s history. This year’s success was capped by the Ram 1500 taking first position in the Full-size Light-Duty Pickup class and the Ram 2500/3500 placing third in the Heavy-Duty Pickup class.

The 2024 Ram 1500 features an eight-speed automatic transmission mated to gasoline engine that provides 305 horsepower from a 3.6-liter V-6 and 395 horsepower when equipped with the 5.7-liter V-8. A 48-volt hybrid system supports both engines, while the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is also offered without the electric assistance. The tough Rebel variant offers genuine off-road performance and a tougher appearance for those with an adventurous spirit. Unlike typical leaf-spring setups, every Ram 1500 boasts an outstanding ride thanks to a rear suspension that uses either optional air springs or standard coil springs. Even the ride height of models with air suspension may be adjusted, improving off-road performance and fuel economy.
